First Steps to address the danger of the Riverside/ Newell intersection

LADOT shared the initial steps of a left-turn signal and what they are calling “striping” changes.  This was a direct result of and response to your collective action.  We know that this first step doesn’t directly address the main issue of speed and we will continue to advocate for that together, but it shows how organized people can actually lead to change.

The outpouring of support and turnout on Sunday and the media and social media coverage that came after like this piece – https://www.lataco.com/three-dead-24-hours-westlake-north-hollywood-torrance/ – led to this rapid response and I hope what will be the beginning of a more responsive rand accountable relationship with the City when it comes to safe streets and Vision Zero.
