The Little Tokyo Service Center Community Development Corporation (LTSC CDC) is a fast-paced nonprofit organization with over 140 employees. It has been “helping people and building community” for over 30 years providing service to over 10,000 people each year. LTSC CDC carries out a wide range of programs including social services, childcare, economic development, property management and building affordable housing.

Summary of Duties:

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Finance Department and the

Childcare Department. Duties will include:


•     Send/distribute checks to vendors/appropriate parties

•     Assist in coding deposits, scanning deposits and taking deposits to banks

•     File/retrieve backup documents for the Finance department

•     Maintain calendars and tracking spreadsheets for bank accounts, grant contracts, loan documents, health deductions, etc.

•     Assist with general file management (both physical and electronic)

•     Order checks and supplies for the department

•     Assist with correspondence and information gathering

•     Data entry for financial analysis models

•     General clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing

•     Other administrative duties/projects as assigned


•     Monitoring and auditing daily attendance sign-in sheets and month end tallies

•     Monitoring and auditing daily meal counts and month end tallies

•     Maintaining contact lists or parents, staff, children, waiting lists, food program participants, etc.

•     Maintain safety checklists (weekly safety check, monthly earthquake and fire drill, and annual fire safety alarm/extinguisher)

•     Maintain and archive daily reports and injury reports

•     General administrative support – Phones, petty cash, work orders/tech requests, filing, ordering supplies and equipment as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates for the position should have the following qualifications:

•     Bachelor’s degree

•     Must be computer savvy and have the ability to operate a personal computer

•     Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word and Mac and Windows operating systems

•     Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail

•     Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with multicultural staff, in external relations, and have the ability to work well in a team environment

•     Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

•     Ability to actively and attentively listen

•     Strong initiative and ability to work well independently, good problem-solving ability and capability to manage multiple projects effectively

•     Highly motivated, with the ability to participate as an enthusiastic team member, and take direction and follow tasks through completion

•     Experience in nonprofit community service organization, especially in administration

•     Experience with and commitment to Asian American communities with a desire to work with a community-based, non-profit organization

•     California drivers license and access to insured automobile
