Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Salary and Benefits: $31,000 – $34,000 DOE; full benefits package
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: as soon as position is filled
The Little Tokyo Service Center Community Development Corporation (LTSC CDC) is a fast-paced
nonprofit organization with over 150 employees. It has been “helping people and building community”
for over 30 years providing service to over 10,000 people each year. LTSC CDC carries out a wide
range of programs including social services, childcare, economic development, property management
and building affordable housing.
Summary of Duties:
The Accounting Clerk will report to the Controller of Asset and Property Management and will be
responsible for handling the daily accounting needs of the properties in the assigned Property
Management portfolio.
• Processing accounts payable
• Processing rent deposits in the accounting system
• Issuing 1099s for the respective properties
• Generating monthly financial reports for Property Management review
• Reconciling bank statements and receivable accounts
• Investigating questionable data and recommending actions to resolve discrepancies
• Assisting with monthly closing and property audits
• Other various accounting projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates for the Accounting Clerk position should have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Experience in bookkeeping and working with BostonPost, Blackbaud Financial Edge or other
fund accounting software
• Experience with property management or affordable housing a strong plus
• Must be computer savvy and have the ability to operate a personal computer and calculator
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Mac and Windows operating systems
• Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail and have the ability to manage multiple
responsibilities effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to actively and attentively listen
• Ability to think through, evaluate, and solve problems logically and independently
• Desire to work with a community-based, non-profit organization
